We would like to invite you to the first Medicine as a Science lecture in the summer semester. This time, you will hear from Elene Janberidze, MD, Ph.D., Post-Doc researcher at the Division of Medical Psychology, 3rd Faculty of Medicine.

Her work focuses on the impact of a palliative care consult team in the inpatient hospital setting. She is clinical oncologist by background. Back home she is working as a chief researcher at the Department of Gerontology and Palliative Care, Tbilisi State University and Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia (Tbilisi, Georgia). She did her Ph.D. at European Palliative Care Research Centre (PRC) at Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim (Norway). Her Ph.D. thesis addressed depression and depressive symptoms in advanced cancer patients.

Her lecture, titled Depression and depressive symptoms in advanced cancer patients: assessment, classification, and treatment will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2018, at 6 PM in Syllaba’s lecture hall. This lecture is goingt to be streamed.
